Andre de la Cruz, a master of Brazilian and Polish performing arts, seamlessly transitions between stages and cameras, effortlessly navigating multiple languages and cultures. His artistic journey began at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO)’s Acting Department and continued at the Film and Television Academy in Warsaw, embodying the essence of an artist without borders.

Since 1997, de la Cruz has been an integral member of the SBAT (Brazilian Theater Writers Association). His profound dedication to the Chekhov method is evident in his research and reinterpretation of this technique. His collaborative work with renowned experts like Prof. Joanna Merlin and Prof. Fern Sloan from MICHA - The Michael Chekhov Association, underscores his commitment to lifelong learning and artistic refinement.

De la Cruz's accolades are numerous and noteworthy. He was awarded the Grand Prix for directing “Don Juan” at the 3rd Veiga de Almeida Theater Festival (1996), Best Actor for “Os Ossos do Barão” at the 11th Theater Festival in Blumenau (1996), and Best Playwright for “Galileu” at the 5th Theater Festival in Resende (1998). He also received the Grand Prix for directing “Lonely Hearts” (Corações Solitários) at the South American Theater Meetings (1999), and another Grand Prix for directing “Mariana” at the 3rd Monodrama Festival “Monoblok” in Gdańsk (2012).

Beyond the stage and screen in Brazil, de la Cruz has significantly impacted the cultural landscape. He served as the artistic director for major events in Rio de Janeiro, including the “53rd World Press Congress and the 7th World Editors Forum,” and the “Guinard” exhibition at the National Museum of Fine Arts. 

His passion for education is evident during his tenure at the Leonardo Alves Theater School in Rio de Janeiro, where he teaches theater history and acting techniques, nurturing the next generation of Brazilian performing artists. Continuing his educational endeavors, in 2017, he founded Studio Teatralne Kadr in Warsaw, a comprehensive two-year program focused on the art of acting. This was followed by the establishment of the Mikhail Chekhov Studio in 2021, further contributing to the training of aspiring actors in Warsaw.

Andre de la Cruz, mistrz brazylijskiej i polskiej sztuki scenicznej, płynnie przechodzi między sceną a kamerą, z łatwością nawigując po wielu językach i kulturach. Jego artystyczna podróż rozpoczęła się na Wydziale Aktorskim Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO) i kontynuowana była w Akademii Filmu i Telewizji w Warszawie, uosabiając istotę artysty bez granic.

Od 1997 roku de la Cruz jest integralną częścią SBAT (Brazylijskiego Stowarzyszenia Pisarzy Teatralnych). Jego głębokie zaangażowanie w metodę Czechowa jest widoczne w jego badaniach i reinterpretacji tej techniki. Jego współpraca z renomowanymi ekspertami, takimi jak prof. Joanna Merlin i prof. Poza sceną i ekranem w Brazylii, de la Cruz znacząco wpłynął na krajobraz kulturalny. Był dyrektorem artystycznym ważnych wydarzeń w Rio de Janeiro, w tym „53. Światowego Kongresu Prasy i 7. Światowego Forum Redaktorów” oraz wystawy „Guinard” w Narodowym Muzeum Sztuk Pięknych.

Jego pasja do edukacji jest widoczna podczas jego kadencji w Szkole Teatralnej Leonardo Alves w Rio de Janeiro, gdzie naucza historii teatru i technik aktorskich, kształtując przyszłe pokolenie brazylijskich artystów scenicznych.
